Phase 1 - Meeting Room, Art Gallery, and Foyer (completed)
If you haven’t visited recently, see how our library’s transformation reflects our community’s pride and shared progress. Our first phase is now complete, making the foyer, meeting room, and art gallery more welcoming and beautiful, thanks to community support and donations.
Phase 2 - Circulation Area and Recording Studio (completed)
This phase came with big changes! Franklin Lakes Library now has a Welcome Desk that patrons can see as they walk into our foyer. We also improved sightlines into the Children’s Library by relocating the entrance to a more prominent position. We now have improved service capabilities, more seating, and a cutting-edge recording studio! The new Decker Recording Studio, free to patrons and local students, is for recording music, voice, podcasts, and more.
Phase 3 - Children’s Library
Phase 3 of our renovation plans cost approximately $1.45 million. Highlighting the importance of community support can motivate residents to contribute, as every patron’s help, at any level, makes a difference in reaching our $650,000 goal to complete this phase.
The comprehensive renovation of the Children’s Library will include optimizing its floor space, creating a Children’s Library circulation desk, and installing new flooring, shelving, and furniture.
Projects - Study Rooms
We look forward to sharing plans for expanding our second-floor study rooms, which will provide more space and resources for our patrons. Stay tuned for updates on these exciting improvements.
